So, I’ve been working on this site for the past 2 days….yes, 2 days…..testing, updating, changing, and so forth. Sorry for all the mess, if you’ve been following along. We’re getting there. I’m attempting to get this to the point that I blog almost every day about what’s going on with us and the gardening. In the meantime, bear with me please.
As you read in the first blog, John and I began our journey this time about 9 months ago. We were living in Utah, in a 3,000 sq ft home on 1-1/2 acres. We had a greenhouse, and a huge garden area. The neighbors on one side raised sheep, chickens, a few steer, and a llama. The neighbors to the other side raised show birds such as pheasants, cockatiels, and various others. We LOVED the animals so close! We LOVED our home, and garden. We have been adamant about gardening as organically, non-GMO, and with as little water as possible. Two summers ago we had the best garden! We were raising approximately 100 heirloom tomatoes, along with all the regular veggies: carrots, green beans, asparagus beans, sugar snap peas, snow peas, all sorts of lettuces, spinach, chard of all varieties, zucchini, onions, garlic, various summer and winter squash, melons of all varieties, orange and yellow pumpkins, and all the herbs you can think of. John is retired, and would putz around the garden while I was at work. The minute I got home, off came the work clothes, on went the gardening clothes, and out I went. I first hit the peas, and filled my hungry tummy as I picked for dinner. Oh, how I miss that!
We loved what we were doing, and loved where we were…..except, the energies of the religious culture around us began closing in and smothering us. We believe that we can work with energies, and assist to lighten them, but this was an almost impossible task in Utah. So, we worked with the Powers that be for months, and were guided to leave the area. WHAT?!?!??!?! LEAVE?!?!?!?!!? Yes, and also, leave my employment. SCARY AS HELL! But, necessary for us to do what we are seriously guided to do…….GROW FOOD FOR EVERYONE…TEACH OTHERS HOW TO GROW AS WELL…..
So, with what little money I got back from taxes last year, we bought an older class A motorhome, spruced it up with a new floor, movable kitchen island, built in desk with solar water storage underneath, replaced the black water tank, re-papered and painted the whole inside, replaced the window coverings, and waxed the outside to buff it up a bit. Then, we sold, and gave away EVERYTHING we couldn’t put to use inside the motorhome, with the exception of a 5’x8′ enclosed trailer that we pull with our paid-for SUV. Off we went, the weekend of July 4, 2012. Where, you ask? Well, to Colorado.
More to come……..
